To Upgrade Medease to MoneyFinder MoneyFinder 1.0 upgrades from Medease versions 5.53 and 5.54 *Network Installations - Disconnect all users before launching MedEase for upgrade to MoneyFinder* **Before upgrading MedEase to MoneyFinder, disconnect all users, close MoneyFinder, and create a backup copy of the primary DATA Folder** ***After backing up the DATA folder be sure to Reindex and Repack the MedEase Databases prior to upgrade. This will decrease database size, and will make the upgrade run more quickly*** 1. Go to http://www.provider-advantage.com/MoneyFinder-download/MoneyFinder1.0_Upgrade.exe 2. Click the link to download the MoneyFinder upgrade package. 3. Save MoneyFinder1.0_Update.exe to the MedEase DATA folder (normally C:\MedEase\Data). 4. Double-Click MoneyFinder1.0_Update.exe. 5. MoneyFinder UCenter (the upgrade utility) will extract all files and update MedEase automatically. 6. Wait for extraction to complete. 7. Once completed, MoneyFinder should close itself. If it does not, click “Terminate Now” on the Upgrade window. 8. Run Medease.exe on each workstation to complete the auto update. 9. Some status screens will run, then an Installation Wizard will launch. 10. Follow the prompts to complete the Wizard, which converts data files to a format that allows files to be run in Windows Terminal Services or a Citrix environment 11. If you have a large Patient database, be patient; it may take a few minutes for the Wizard to complete 12. After the Wizard is complete, MoneyFinder will launch 13. Launch MComplus (either automatically or manually). A few minutes after MComplus launches, status dialogs will run, indicating that the new version of MComplus is replacing the old one. 14. This completes the upgrade to MoneyFinder. 15. Call Provider Advantage Customer Support at (800) 337-5482, ext. 1, 1 to report any issues. Note: This upgrade pack puts MoneyFinder.exe and a new version of MComPlus.exe into the MedEase root directory. o From this point on, you should launch MoneyFinder.exe rather than Medease.exe, and should create shortcuts accordingly. o If MComPlus runs from a location other than the MedEase root, or if the DATA folder is installed in another location, it will need to be manually moved to the correct location before launching MoneyFinder after the extraction.
