Instructions to Upgrade to MoneyFinder 1.1 from MedEase versions 5.53 and 5.54 NOTE: This upgrade pack puts MoneyFinder.exe and a new version of MComPlus.exe into the MedEase root directory, as well as creating new MoneyFinder shortcuts. Users can now launch MoneyFinder.exe rather than Medease.exe. MoneyFinder contains a detailed setup and user guide that can be accessed via the Help Menu. *Network Installations - Disconnect all users from the DATA folder before launching MedEase for upgrade to MoneyFinder* **Network Installations - Before upgrading MedEase to MoneyFinder, disconnect all users, close MoneyFinder, and create a backup copy of the primary DATA Folder** ***Network Installations - After backing up the DATA folder be sure to Reindex and Repack the MedEase Databases prior to upgrade. This will decrease database size, and will make the upgrade run more quickly*** ****Network Installations - If MComPlus.exe runs from a location other than the MedEase root, or if the DATA folder is installed in another location, MComPlus must be manually moved to the appropriate location before launching MoneyFinder after the extraction.**** 1. Go to the MedEase / MoneyFinder Download Page http://www.provider-advantage.com/products_moneyfinder.htm 2. Click the link to download the MedEase to MoneyFinder 1.1 Upgrade http://www.provider-advantage.com/MoneyFinder-download/MedEase_to_MoneyFinder1.1_Upgrade.exe 3. Click the link to download the MoneyFinder upgrade package 4. Save the file MedEase_to_MoneyFinder1.1_Upgrade.exe to the MedEase DATA folder (normally C:\MedEase\DATA) 5. Run MedEase_to_MoneyFinder1.1_Upgrade.exe 6. MoneyFinder UCenter will extract all files and update MedEase automatically - Wait for extraction to complete 8. Once completed, MoneyFinder will close itself. If it does not, click “Terminate Now” on the Upgrade window 9. Run Medease.exe on the machine connected to the DATA folder with Admin rights 10. Update screens will appear, then an Installation Wizard will launch 11. Follow the prompts to complete the Wizard, which converts data files to a format that allows MoneyFinder to be run in Windows Terminal Services & Citrix environment If you have a large database, please be patient; it may take a few minutes for the conversion to complete 12. After the conversion is complete, MoneyFinder will launch automatically 13. Launch MComplus (either automatically or manually). A few minutes after MComplus launches, status dialogs will run, indicating that the new version of MComplus is replacing the old one 14. Reconnect any disconnected users/network shares 15. Run Medease.exe on each workstation to complete the upgrade to MoneyFinder 16. This completes the upgrade from MedEase to MoneyFinder. A reboot is recommended, but not required 17.
